Mary Epperson, 71, of the Danville Care Nursing Home, died Monday evening August 17, 1981, at the nursing home. In 1978, she completed a term as clerk of the Fountain Circuit Court. She was formerly employed with Attica and Veedersburg newspapers, and was active in Fountain County Democratic politics. She attended the Christian Science Church in Attica. Born June 14, 1910 near Attica, she was the daughter of Edward and Ethel Houts Haines. She was married to Harry Epperson. He died in August, 1968. Survivors include a brother-in-law, Carl Epperson, of Hillsboro; and several cousins: Victor Houts of Crystal Lake, Ill., Cloyd Houts in Florida, Chester Houts of Wabeno, Wis., Mrs. Grace Hershberger of Lafayette, Robert Houts of Harvey, Ill., Mrs. Marian Carpenter of Veedersburg, Mrs. Rebecca Tracy of Ogden, Utah, and Mrs. James Hamilton of Pendleton, Ind. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday afternoon at the Crumley Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery at Hillsboro - jlr

Mrs. Mary A. Epperson of Danville, Illinois, age 71, died Monday evening, August 17, in Danville Care Nursing Home. She was born near Attica, June 14, 1910, the daughter of Edward and Ethel Houts Haines. February 26, 1940, she married Harry Epperson, who died in August of 1968.

  Mrs. Epperson was clerk of Fountain Circuit Court from 1975 to 1978 and was formerly employed by Veedersburg News and Attica Ledger Tribune. She attended Attica Christian Science Society.

  Survivors include a brother-in-law, Carl Epperson of Hillsboro; and several cousins, Mrs. Marian Carpenter of Veedersburg, Mrs. Grace Hershberger of Lafayette, Mrs. Grace Hershberger of Lafayette, Mrs. James Hamilton of Pendleton, Mrs. Rebecca Tracy of Ogden, Utah, Victor Houts of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Cloyd Houts in Florida, Chester Houts of Wabeno, Wisconsin and Robert Houts of Harvey, Illinois.

  Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Hillsboro. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today (Thursday).- thanks to S
